Rear Window Molding
Insert one of the pronged ends of the tool under the molding, between the molding and the glass, keeping the tool rather flat to the glass. Run the tool edge along the underside of the molding until you hit a “stop”. This “stop” should be one of the molding clips (pictured). Here you have to kind of feel your way, but engage the point of the tool between the upper edge of the clip and the molding. Now, slightly rock or wiggle the tool into the clip and you will be able to dislodge the clip from the molding. Most likely, you will hear a “snap” (the clip releasing), and see the molding rise a bit as it is freed from the clip. Then just work your way around the glass. There are 19 clips in all, as I have denoted on the drawing with an X. Go easy on these as they are plastic and can break. I managed to break a couple of mine, but I think I can epoxy them back together, and even if I cannot, the other 17 ought to hold the molding fine.
This all probably sounds a little vague, but you just need to try it. It really is pretty easy.
Hopefully the pics of the tool, clip, underside of the molding, and the diagram of where the clips are will give you enough info to get the job done.
