While my engine bay is somewhat disassembled for detailing purposes, my original spark plug wires are out.
Since there are 50000 miles on the vette, should I just go ahead and put new ones in, or is there a test that can be done on them to determine if they can be reinstalled?
What do you guys do? ... and thanks for your advice.
you can test spark plug wires.. get a muti meter and put it on the ohms setting attach one lead from the meter to each side of the wire.. you should have a good soild reading.. now after doing this try to move the wire around without messing with the leads and if you loose ohms you know your are developing a brake in the wire... if it was me though i would probably go on and replace the wireset though
There are so many different wire sets available for you and they are way better quality than the original GM wire sets. Given the wires are the original wires, I would place them somewhere safe to keep with the car and replacement them with a quality new design wire.
I’m sorry I won’t recommend a brand or wire set for you. What one man likes another one may hate! Do some research and I’m sure you’ll find you a good set.
