On my 78', it just hangs from the hoses. I looked at the AIM, and confirmed that there are no brackets. The after market parts are more universal and have a bracket for other applications. I removed the bracket from the one I bought just so it looked original. I can post the 78' AIM that shows it if anyone wants it.

Gary

Here's a pic of the original that was in my 78'. It just hangs there and with a strap on the inner fender holding it.

that there is NO bracket on the correct valve for 78/79.
I have a line on CORRECT valves if anyone's interested. Just bought one and it's exactly the one I removed from my original black79.
Ebay guy doesn't know their full applications! $30+shipping.

The NCRS judging manual states it is attached to the fenderwell.

Does the AIM show how it is attached?

I thought I had an original but there is a bracket. Guess not.

I would like to know as well. Mine has the bracket and is just hanging there attached to the heater hose. The car is pretty low mileage (45,000) and pretty much original.
