Default 1978 Courtesy Light Question

My 1978 Vette's courtesy lamps do not come on when I open the doors and the alarm does not work when activated. If I use the headlight switch to turn on the courtesy lamps they work just fine. Where do i start to figure out how to fix this problem??

I don't know, but I assume it's the area I should start looking...

My light doesn't turn off! I had to pull the bulb out!

It sounds like the courtesy light timer is bad. In 1978 they are placed behind the glove compartment. It will be an orange colored plastic rectangular box with a 3 or 4 wire connector. It is this pricey little guy here:

In early '78's the timer was on the driver's side near the fuse box. The '78 I had was like that. It's bright orange...you can't miss it wherever it's at.

do a search. You can bypass the timer and have the interior lights turn on when you open the door and turn off when you close them, just eliminating the delay function. That's what's been done on my 79. It was done before I got the car, so I'm not sure how to do it, but a search should turn up your answer.
