Default Valve Cover Gaskets

Is there any need to use silicone/RTV on these Valve Cover Gaskets when installing? They are the Fel Pro Perma Dry +. I've never used these before.

You don't need any sealant on the Fel-Pro gaskets...but, if you have stamped steel valve covers, you need to flatten out the cover rails, especially around the bolt holes. Those covers get overtorqued and deformed all the time [trying to get them to seal, ironically]. Use a flat strip of metal and a small hammer to flatten the surface {turn the cover upside down with the rail on the metal and use the hammer on the rail bottom-side; that will keep the hammer marks off the top face}.
