i just picked up a 78 last week .the seat will go forward and back but there isnt any tilt to it .is there any way to improvise this .i feel as though im riding in a big buick with the seat back as low as it will go looking at the stars .i had a 79 years ago and im sure it had adjustment .thanks for the info .

I never looked in to it, but my seat in my '78 does the same thing. I don't know if it is right or not.
(PS. there were two kind of seats in the '78, the one in the pace car was the same as the '79 and up and the rest were like the previous years)
If it's not a Pace Car (79' seat), the seat tilt is changed by adding shims (washers) under the seat bumpers. On the earlier model, there was usually a bag of washers that came with the car. Crude by todays standards.
my car was built in 1 78 so its an early car .yea im sure u could adjust my 79 .i just find myself pulling up on the steering wheel- so i can assure somethings gonna change seats to a later model or something .anyway thanks for the reply ,,,,

I have an early '78 with the same problem.I don't mind a little lean back,but mine is just too much. I've tried the shims and even made 1" aluminum spacers to go under the seat tracks where they bolt to the floor, and it's still not right.I need seat covers,so,I might just go with a different seat. Rick
