Has anyone had trouble installing the a GM Restoration Parts PN 379918Nose Emblem? I just picked up my car from the paint shop and part of the deal was they were going to replace the nose emblem. When I picked it up they were unable to get the emblem they ordered to fit. The alignment pins were in the wrong place. I am wondering if maybe that ordered in a different manufacturer (Chinese), or if the the part from GM Restoration parts have problems fitting.
I bought a repro nose emblem for my '69 that my painter had break twice while trying to install, and it wasnt even curved for the body. garbage. I found there were at least 3, I believe 4 levels of repro quality when I finally bought the right one.
I suppose I should have included that little piece of info. Yes it is a 77, the fule door emblem I bought from fleabay that said it was for a 77. After doing the research I should have done to begin with I found that correct part number and determined there was a difference between 77 and 79 and the part I had was for a 79. I am hoping that the GM Resto part I just ordered for the nose will work. The parts manual gives the same number for 77 and 79.
I believe the company named TRIM PARTS makes the highest quality emblems. Perhaps you may want to check out their site, I'm not sure if they go up to 77 or not.
