Default Outer Door Handles

Is anyone using the outer door handles made by Trim Parts, if so how are they holding up? The GM ones are way too spendy for me and the offshore ones seem to be junk. Trim Parts seems to make quality stuff so I'm contemplating their door handles.

Thanks.

Hi Scott,
I have the TRIM PARTS handles on my 71 and they're doing very well.
What I liked about them first was that the 'flapper is actually cut in the correct shape to match the bezel part of the handle.
Regards,
Alan

The Trim Parts ones are made from GM molds. They have the rights to them. The $200.00 GM ones are old inventory that they just keep raising the price on. I don't think GM has cast any of these in more than 10 years.

Trim Parts clean up and make any repairs needed to the GM molds when they aquire them, before producing any products from them. As such, the Trim Part repros are often better quality than "genuine" GM ones. The only problem with Trim Parts is that many of their products are often back ordered, sometimes for years!!!! The 69-82 left outside door handle is one of those parts that has had backorder problems. I don't know what the current status of them is, but if you go to purchase them, make sure that they are both (left and right) in stock. If one or both aren't, don't believe the promised delivery date because they are often optimistic.

I just got the two sides from Willcox, they were in-stock and came to me right away. They have both the Trim Parts and the foreign made ones.
