I am going to get a set of tires for the 72 next week and I was wondering should I go with Firestone Firehawks or Goodyear Eagles. Anybody have any pros or cons. Thanks Skip
I'd vote for Goodyear. All I can say is my personal experience with Goodyear tires has been outstanding. I'll bet there are others that can say the same about 'Firestones. Find the ones you like, at the price you like and go.
FWIW: Everything I have wears Goodyear, except the Harley. Those are branded "Harley-Davidson" probably made by Dunlop to H-D's specs.
I had Goodyear on my 68' Camaro, B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A
on my 72' Corvette and Firestone Firehawk on my current car
- 70' Corvette. I think they are all comparable to each other.
All were good tires and I have no favoritism towards
one over the other. With that said, I went with the Firestone
this time around for a couple of reasons. First, the car came originally
equipped with Firestone, I didn't get the repops because I wanted better
handling so the Poly Glas were not an option. Second, I like the look.
