Can anyone tell me what the holes in the center of the console are above the fuel and tempo gauge? Also, the orange wire was found under my shifter console, what is it for?
Andy - The holes are not stock to a '69 Corvette. I don't think the power antenna switch is either. Not a big deal - these gauge bezels are always broken at their thin points and can be replaced ($$) if you want. Or just fill the holes, shoot it with the correct semi-flat black paint, and forget it ever happened. The orange wire MIGHT be for the lighter - I don't have access (at work) to the wiring diagram, but I'm sure someone here will be able to advise you shortly.

The two drilled holes beneath the CORVETTE nameplate and the square hole cut beneath it are not stock. Ditto for the power entenna.
The rectangular slot with the two U-nuts is stock for non-AC cars. Fresh air riser plugs in behind the slot and has two trim screws to hold it utilizing the U-nuts. The assembly instruction manual (AIM) will show the installation and will help chase down the wire terminal you found under the console.
