Default Headlight conversion question

Okay, I have the recessed headlights. I wanna get some super bright bulbs to put in. Is there any conversion available that plugs right into the stock wiring but is with a better, brighter bulb (ie xenon, projector)?

You could get an HID kit that gives you ballasts and the bulbs that will fit standard reflector housings, but I strongly recommend not doing it. First, it's illegal, but there are good reasons why. When you stick a xenon bulb into a housing designed for a standard bulb or halogen, the housing cannot concentrate and focus the light properly. This means you get a lot of light scattered across the roadway, which doesn't sound too bad, except to the guy in the opposing direction. This is why it's illegal. They tend to really blind people. That why a lot of tuners with HID's tend to blind people, because they drop it in and go.
Your best bet, and this is still illegal but a better choice for everyone, is to do a retrofit. Basically you take a projector housing that was designed to handle a xenon bulb and work the projector housing into your housing.
Here is a "link" to a site I frequent that has a nice little write up about what I'm talking about. It has to deal with my other car, but the science/engineering is universal. If it doesn't work, PM me.
Redline info-What you should know.

If this is all not a good move for you, there is always getting brighter, correct bulbs for your housings. I know sylvania makes brighter bulbs in standards sizes, but the life is reduced compared to normal bulbs.

I hope this helps.

you could by Cibe or Marcel replacements and then put in 165w high and 100w lows then you will see the light. i have done that since the 70's and have yet to fry any wiring.

On our 71' I put in the aircraft landing lights for the high beam just a little modification to there wiring connector.
