What is best to use to clean 36 years of grease and grime off these parts? Mostly suspension parts.

I've been using Purple Power on the engine bay and front suspension, and it's worked great. First, I used a putty knife for the heavy stuff; then after a few applications of the purple Power, most of the surfaces were getting down to bare metal (and even original paint in some cases). I used an old tooth brush on some of the tight spots.

I have always found brake fluid to be a very good cleaner, been using it for 30 plus years.

Thanks for the quick resonses. I never thought to use Simple Green. I know it is biodegradable so I will try it first.

I picked up the spray bottle size of Simple Green. Do you guys cut it with water first or do you use the concentrate straight out of the bottle?
