Get some matching touch-up paint. I get mine from paintscratch.com along with some surface cleaner. Wash and dry the area, then use the cleaner to get all grease/oils off the surface (and out of the 'pit'). Shake the paint bottle well [before filling each nick/pit], then use a toothpick to pick up a bit of paint (no brushes, please). Set the end of the toothpick in the center of the chipped area and let the paint 'wick' off into the pit. This will allow the paint to fill the damaged area smoothly. Then let it dry. If it didn't fill completely, repeat that process a second time. Keep doing that until the pit is completely filled after it is dry. The one thing you want to protect against is overfilling the chipped area...too much and it can run; you can always add more if it is underfilled. You shouldn't have to sand it, but you can do so, if you want. Just fill the pits until they are just a touch higher than the existing paint surface before you color-sand.
