With the help of Wilcox, their diagram, advice and a little soldering, I have gotten the Wiper motor on my 1972 to work on the bench. Once installed it still doesn't work as expected.
The dash wiper switch opens the door but the wipers do not work. I have confirmed the ground and main power are good as I can get the motor to run with those connected and applying power to the middle contact and ground to the outside contact(s).
How do I further troubleshoot the triple connector and beyond? Any hints would be appreciated.
Vacuum opens the wiper door. As it opens, the actuator rod on the hinge hardware trips the wiper switch on the cowl. Once the switch is tripped, the wiper motor will start.
Make sure the switch is mounted correctly on the cowl. The AIM has an assembly note concerning the position of the pigtail. Make sure the actuator rod is tripping the switch. The plunger on the rod can be adjusted as needed.
