I'm trying to restore the interior and am cleaning up a lot of excessive wiring (aftermarket stereo, alarm, etc.) and go back to original. There is one orange wire that is T'd into a grey wire (in the bundle that goes to the shifter and a wire that goes to the a/c. The orange one is the one I can't figure out. I've tracked it the driverside of the transmission. What is this wire for? Is this the downshift wire, the starter safety (where it won't start in gear)....? It's a TH400.
That is the kick down wire, it's actuated by a switch on the top of the accelerator pedal. Do a search on this fourm for Papawana, he has been e-mailing wiring diagrams for whatever year you have.
