Default John Deere Blitz Black interior paint

I did my shifter plate while installing my new heater controls and thought the Blitz Black was a pretty good match.

I thought some of you would like to see a picture in case your planning on painting any of your metal interior parts.

I'm also dyeing the center console along with the incorrect E-brake console and other "correct" 68 interior parts with SEM interior dye.

Yes, it is a good color. It has been discussed before, but I won't complain about a dupe. Sorry, some people on here are pretty rude about dupes. I guess they spend ALL of their time on the CF, not just most of their time!
Good pics. I love 68s!

I know it has been discussed but I don't there were pictures. I like to see things to be sure myself.

I never did get the dupe thing, like it was a sin.

Very interesting "stand" you have there for painting your parts. I'm guessing you won't find anything like that in Home Depot or the paint supply store.

Any info is helpfull whether or not it has been talked about before or not. If the thread doesn't interest someone are they "forced" to read it?
Thanks for posting.

Nicely done.
How did you deal with the chorme areas on the console shifter plate?
Did you mask them off or paint over them and then remove the paint from the chrome area.
It came out very nice
That is something I would like to do down the road sometime on my 68

It was just sitting there looking like it wanted to be a paint stand.

Kurt,
I used a little razor blade that came with my trucks remote starter install kit.
The plate pictured above is from my parts cars, I'm stripping the one that was in the car today and will be painting it soon.
I used a self etching primer first followed by the blitz black.

Hi DZ,
It's good to know about the 'Blitz' since Krylon #1613 is getting so difficult to find.
I'm doing a little work on my center gauge bezel today and using the razor blade method. It really does seem to give the best results for me.
Regards,
Alan

tape off chrome with masking tape, trim with xacto blade. Then lightly dust part with sandblaster, black paint, any paint, will not adhere to the chrome surface. After removing tape, an #11 xacto blade in handle can be used to fix up any bad areas, scrape point along straight edges for a nice line in the black, will not hurt the chrome.........
John Deere silver is a great color also!!!
