Yeah, the little rugrat does look cute! The uniform is her dance costume, her dance troupe is performing the song "Sea Cruise" for their recital in a few weeks, so their costumes have an marine theme to them. So that gave me an idea how to celebrate Memorial Day & show our respect to the services
We had an in-depth discussion about why today is a holiday when she asked what Memorial Day means. She is aware of the flag, the military & the different branches as she has seen my Army pics, and likes to brag about how her older brother will be joining the Navy, so I explained to her how people have fought and died for our country, so we can live here and have a Corvette, so she can have the right to play and have fun, and have all the toys she has. Not sure how much sunk in, or if I even explained it right, but she looked pretty enthralled & remembers much of what I said when I ask her what Memorial Day means
I have a 1978 Pace Car so I guess I can post it here even though I did drive my silver C5 2002 Coupe to visit the Viet Nam Traveling Wall Display at Oak Groove, Ky. yesterday. Since I am a Viet Nam veteran
I found names of several guys I served with. This was a very hard thing to experiance.
Thanks for your thoughts
