Hi Justin,
I believe the Chassis Service Manual has a section on rebuilding the starter. Have you checked there?
Regards,
Alan

a stock starter solnoid can be dissassembled, and the contact ring can be flipped-over to extend the starter life. clean up the bolt contacts while your in there. 69VETT

You can buy all sorts of starter (and alternator) parts from these guys, cheap: National Automotive Lines 800-428-4300. A whole new solonoid is like $7. A Bendix is like $5. Buy a set of brushes while you're at it for about $2. I just bought a bunch of alternator parts. You gotta call, they don't have a nice website. It's called old-fashioned good service. You don't need a diagram, just take it apart and remember where it was. Starters are not that complicated. Good luck.

THanks for all the help guys. I think I need a starter brace now, my starter grinds a tad.
