Starting to put my 72 vert back togeather after powder coating the frame and treating the inside of the rails. I am looking for a list of every nut and bolt that I will need to use to put the car back togeather that I can take down to the local fastener dealer and order them all new. I understand that each bolt and nut is listed in the parts manual but am trying to save myself some time if someone else has already compilied a list like this. Or does anyone know of any dealer that has put a kit like this already put togeather? Please tell me I dont have to go through the manual page by page and write down every bolt and nut I need.

You'll have to make your own list. The AIM will not list sizes. The GM Corvette Illustrated Parts Catalogue lists sizes, but I'm willing to bet it won't be 100% complete. You can get these on CD, usually one huge .pdf file, or you can find hard copy originals. I have both and prefer the hard copy.
Hi Pat,
Where's the list you made when you took everything apart? It all went into little labled baggies, right?
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Some of the vendors do have rebuild kits for the front and rear suspension that have the proper bolts, nuts, and other fasteners and also bushings, etc. you'll need. That's as close to a kit I've seen.
I think Mike's suggestion of how to put a list together is the way I'd do it.

Alan
Well I guess I have a new project, going through the manual and making a spread sheet. Hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks if it will help anyone else. That little labeled baggie thing, really good in theory not so much in reality.
Paragon used to have a poster with most of the bolts listed. Not sure how complete it is,I'll see if I can find it and post a pic.
edit-this is very old but maybe they have one that is updated.

Wow, this would be a great project to build a complete list. I spent a lot of time going back and forth to the hardware store to get fasteners. The guys at Orchard Supply Hardware know me by name.
Good luck.

The GM parts catalog will get you a lot of what you need but won't be 100%. I have the paper and PC versions and like Mike prefer the paper. few of the sizes but most just list the part number. Bag and tag is the best way but hind site is always 20/20.
Hi Pat,
The baggie system does work in reality. It's on many people's list of how to do a off-frame restoration.
All the parts and fasteners are original except the french locks.

Why wouldnt it work??? I'm just finishing up a complete (frame on) restoration and used the "baggie system" labeling all bolts and small parts, I ended up missing two bolts out of the x hundreds i put in labeled bags...

I too am using the baggie system. The trouble begins when you clean the parts and fasteners and send them out in groups for replating black oxide or zinc. When you get them back you have to put them back in labeled baggies or you still end up with a bucket of bolts. Original fasteners are a very good thing, worth a lot of money and virtually irreplaceable. I cannot imagine throwing them out and going to the hardware store for something "similar."
Thanks for all the input. Did not mean to offend or start a debate with all those that the baggie system worked for. My intentions were never to go back to "original" with this car and plan to use stainless and plated for long term durability. As I go through the the assembly process I will start a log of what is used where, and have it handy if anyone else needs it.

thats why you buy a little bit of this...some of that... extra washers....some longer....some shorter...
the good thing about vettes is that most of the bolts are the same...1/2", 3/16", 1/4" etc...... just lengths are a bit different

Did you manage to put this list together? I'm looking to do the same thing to my '70.
