Back to Michigan.
Rt. 22 from Manistee to Northport along Lake Michigan. About 100 miles.
Some GREAT views, well paved, lots of hills and curves, little traffic. One 'scenic outlook' high above the lake near Arcadia WILL take your breath away.
You have to watch forward for deer and to the rear for that 120 mph motorcycle.
Regards,
Alan
No, it's not the Pacific, but is pretty good.

i was able to run the dragon the year before the big police crackdown, after 3 people were killed in 2 days. i got up to 80 mph on some of the longer straight sections and my brakes were starting to fade badly from all the hard stopping. i think i ran about 9 of the 11 miles uninterrupted before i ran up on a slow moving BMW Z3. its even fun to just park off the side and watch everyone else go by. lots of cool cars and knee dragging sport bike riders to check out. i think i will just cruise it slowly next time i go back, but its such a cool road its hard not to wanna step on the gas.

The Tail of the Dragon is in North Carolina. It has 318 turns in just 11-miles, and at the end there's a little motel where mostly motorcyclists stay for the night. It's a hot spot for bikers to test their machines against the clock. Also at the end of the road is a large tree . . . it is decorated with motorcycle parts, those who did not make it . . .
I drove the tail on my Harley Davidson, and it was great! I can't imagine doing it in a car, certainly not at speed.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is the truly scenic road, which stretches hundreds of miles.
