Greetings!

It's a love/hate relationship.
Some days are better than others.
10 years ago I sold my 72' and regretted it.
I bought and sold 5 cars before finding my new love/hate
relationship with my 70'. This is it, no more.

Down deep, if you truly love your car more than you hate it, keep it.
The day will come when you deeply regret selling it and although
the market is soft right now, it will bounce back.

Regardless of that, it a classy car, beautiful lines and all sharks,
regardless of their years, are head turners. Do what you can afford
one bite at a time. Just my 2 cents worth.

Rudy

if you work full time you are making $7.21 an hour...I am assuming you are a waiter. If not I think you are making less then minimum wage.

You can make more then 7.21 an hour on Amazon Turk.

From the sound of your post, you know your answer. There were some very good posts suggesting ways of spreading out and minimizing the cost of what projects you listed. You sound like you are a reasonable person - it's NOT a case of the kids starving or the wife wearing rags so you can keep it. Take care of the necessities, pay the bills, and all that. If and when you get some overtime, or a raise, treat yourself to an improvement on the Vette. If you have to park it for a while, you can still tinker with small stuff while it sits.
You got the nail in the head again. Its just the time I see her sitting. I want to fix her.

Also I actually work at a Dodge Parts Warehouse here in KC. Making 10 an hour. But when you take taxes out I only make 1,200 a month now. That's barely 15k a year. Do you really have to ask why I stayed? lol Its a job and all I know is Automotive. Im trying to get out of the industry and do cartooning but how in the hell do ya do it.....

Thanks for the replies guys!

Curving edge, you hit the nail right on the head for what I was talking about on the emotional side. When my wife and I divorced, I said to hell with it and I don't care if it kills me, I'm buying the car of my dreams and so I did. To the OP, that's what I was talking about when I said sometimes emotional reasons outweigh everything else, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I owned a 77 vette, I was making about the same as you are now I never wanted to sell and spent cash on it as I saved for parts. I sell down the road for much less than I had in it. I do not regret this one bit because as I made more money I decided I could afford a better vette. But through the years I never went vetteless and the itch to own one never left. I also never had to think did I do the right thing by selling it? When I sold mine I knew it was right since I had already purchased this one. My vote is don't sell it.

I owned a vette as a young guy. Sold it to make a down payment on a house so I could start a family.
If you were my son and money was tight , my advise would be - sell the damn thing. You're going to park it for who know how long, while the seals dry up and the tyres rot. People store cars with all the right intentions and it goes horribly wrong. Sell it and when things are going well for you , promise yourself you'll buy a better one.
