Default Temp rising... help

Changed my water shut off valve last weekend, yesterday I was driving home after work and the temp goes to 220-240 and a bit into the red... I pulled over to let it cool, then drove home. today driving to work the same happens... any ideas? I will check the coolant at break, and oil.

help!!

Given what you changed it sounds like your low on coolant in the radiator. Make sure the tube in the coolant recovery tank is there.

also, ensure there is not an air bubble in the thermostat housing that could be blocking the coolant...
