Do you guys tolerate them? I personally love them. The crazier the better. Does someone still make those wagon conversions?
I think youll find that all of the Corvette generations have a good amount of custom fabrication by their owners ; if you want to see alot of them in each generation, you should make the trek to Mid Americas Funfest each Sept. Its in southern Illinois . You see ALOT of custom vettes there...and nearly every single one was actually done in pretty good taste . I think they topped 15,000 vettes last year that made it for the fun-filled weekend of cars neatly lined up, tons of corvette vendors, activities, seminars, food, and live music. It is truly an experience.

I miss my 1968 427/390hp,4 speed,3:55 rear end, maybe it's still in Oshkosh,Wis since I
owned it in 1972 and sold it in 1975 or 1976. Great times were had in that Vette !!!!
everything is dated. 20 years from now everyone is going to be laughing their asses off about those stupid large diameter wheels, that people are putting on everything.

Don't count on it. Maybe on the "posers" but you need those stupid large diameter wheels to clear those large diameter rotors on the Z06s and ZL1s.
I always considered them to fall under the banner of "Street Freaks", a term used often by Car Craft in their features of such cars, though it referred most generally to any highly-modified car. To qualify, I think any car would have to have at least four different colors in the graphics, axles relocated at least 2" in virtually any direction, twice as much horsepower as stock and tires twice as wide as stock. Relocated/redesigned headlights and taillights, plus at least twenty pounds worth of extra spoilers or flares would just be a bonus.
I kinda like them too, but while I might preserve a well-done original street-freak, I wouldn't take an original car and freshly modify it that way today.
