Anyone have a quick fix for a sun visor that drops when i go over a bump or at high speeds. is there something i can spray in the arm to tighten it up a bit.
Thanks

Pull the visor off of the shaft and take a pair of pliers and scuff and scrape the shaft a bit. This will give resistance to the visor falling down. Do a little at a time and try it out. Definitely not the right way to do it but will alieviate some frustrations.

How about a toothpick or two as wedges inserted into shaft area?

I just put a thin layer of tape around the shaft (paper tape) and put it back in- it gave enough resistance to hold in place.

If you pull the visor off the rod that holds it, you see a U shaped piece of metal under the vinyl. When I replaced my visors, the drivers side was loose. To fix it, I put a towel over the visor to protect it and gently crimped down on the U piece of metal with a set of pliers and worked my way down the visor. Perfect.

Glad you brought this up, when I redid a 69 interior I got new visors. I installed and crimped and did everything by the directions, but the SOBs still flopped down on their own. I ended up cleaning my originals and reusing them, those bastards are so tight they take a lot of persuasion to bring them into sun-shading mode!!! Car hasn;t seen daylight in 4 yrs----PITY
