Project Dreamcar
My name is Martin and I am new here. Is here anybody (from US) who speaks german too? Because I need help with some words in english Language
Yesterday I bought a wonderful Corvette. A 1972 Corvette

Unfortunately without engine, brackets or many screws from Interior. The seats are original, but not for 1972, I mean.
Here are some pics from the first look from yesterday.

More pictures will follow, if I start the restoration.
My plans are to make a body-off-complete-restoration. I don't know now which engine I will install. First of all I must move the car to my home.
I never dreamed from a 1970-1972 Corvette, becaus here in Switzerland the cars are definitely expensive.
Greetings from Switzerland

Congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the forum. That Vette will certainly need some work but you will have a very distinctive car once it's finished. Check the frame and birdcage (windshield frame, rocker panels, etc) for rust before you spend a lot of money on other things. If you are doing a body-off resto you will have access to everything, and the opportunity to spend a lot more money than you can imagine.
I'm biased, but I'd suggest putting in a LS-series engine and a 5 or 6-speed transmission. I'm about 80% finished my 3-year body-off project.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I checked the rocker panels and the frame at the first viewing and they look not bad. A little bit rust but not much. I found this Vette were a good base for a restoration. At the windshield frame I didn't view. But I hope that there are no rust. I will make further pictures soon.
I dream from a combination with a new LS-engine and a 6-speed too (first of all the LS7). But first I must speak with our MFK (Motorfahrzeugkontrolle), it is the appropriate authority for periodic motor vehicle inspections. It is no fun here, if they say "NO"
I can forget a new LS-engine and a 6-speed. Then I can only install a 454 BB. But okay, that's a fine engine and make fun too
Take care!
Martin
PS:
Thank you for your help with your friend from Santa Clara. This is exaktly the help I want.
For this projekt I ask only persons from USA or Canada because in future I need some parts from producer in USA. The parts from Germany are from the USA too, but very expensive.

Now I have a question to the trimplate: on many photos the trimplate is like new. If there a aftermarket-dealer who produce them?
