Default Restoration Guide and Google

Google can make a publisher crazy. They just put most of my books on the web. Too bad they didn't ask permission - or pay me. But anyways You might as well partake of the information.

This particular book is out of print now and used copies are going for over $70.00. A large part of the book is free on Google. Have fun.

Hope you don't mind...after reading part of what's on Goggle, I put it in my favorites to refer to as I'm doing my '77.

Great book by the way!

looks good - but how can Google do that without your permission? Seems like it would be a copyright issue.

Apparently the DOJ is now investigating Google on this issue...

Actually I noticed that the publisher gave permission for the selections.

This is a long standing issue with Google. One the other hand since MBI is no longer printing this particular book it's a non-issue.

There are simply no new copies available - which is why the used copies are getting so expensive. My Lotus book is still the most expensive one on the market. People are getting over $400 for that book. Then again that was a hard bound book. This particular book was only published in paperback.

I come down and spend time in Bonita Springs every winter, nice place. Sorry about Google and not asking you if they could share but did you have to put that WRONG vacuum diagram in your book, sure makes it tough on some of these guys when they are trying to troubleshoot.

I've been trying to find this book for some time now. Any chance you are going to re-publish this?

There's almost no chance this book will ever be published again. What's out on the market now is it. I know that Amazon has no new copies available and the used copies are getting pricy.

If your publisher has legal control of the rights to your book, you're out of luck with Google. If you have the rights, sue them or, at least, file an injunction to have it removed from the web.

Google doesn't seem to care about copyright infringements, it's been that way with the company for a long long while. To them it's all about profit and earnings so they will do what they wish until they're used or some country files for anti-trust violations.

Richard, I bought you book about 11 years ago when I first bought my car. I can't tell you enough how much it has helped me over the years.
