Rare!! The Story: This is a rare car. In 1981 some investors got together and purchased nine Corvettes off the GM line and sent them to Perfection Auto in Port Moody, British Columbia. There were several guys working there that worked on the convertible line at GM, which was shut down in 1975. There were no convertibles from that point until 1984. The owner of the company in Port Moody was Phil Hardy who passed away 5 years ago. This car and 8 others were converted into convertibles and were supposedly given to the top 9 VP's in the company. The gentleman I purchased the car from had it for 15 years and did not have any documentation to back this up. I actually spoke to the president of the NCRA in Canada and he did say there were some investors that purchased the cars, but could not find any documentation of them going to the VPs. The car is actually titled as a convertible.
Yes Sir: I have seen these cars come up on E-Bay for sale in the last couple of yrs. I think they were calling them research cars. Jeffp1167 has one of these cars he is getting ready to cut up. He is a member on this forum.. Why don't you check with him and see what he really has. Have a great one. Gene
