Most shows with Corvette flea markets have a vendor or 2 with all the old MPC 1/25th plastic models. A '77 shouldnt be hard. Promos are also all over the place and prices are down on those.
PS: if you show your car, please don't display a model on it.

or this.....
I know a lot of model builders that can probably build one for you. Send me an email with a couple of pictures and I'll ask around. How crazy for details you want to get on details will impact the cost I'm sure (like you have blue spark plug wires and want that on the model as well)
another idea is just get a model box of one of those old MPC '77 Corvettes and put it under the back window behind the seats so only a detail seeker would see the end of the box peeking out.
I have 2 models of mine. One I haven't built yet. I don't think I would display them with my car. One is kinda cool in that it's a 78 Pace Car 1/8th scale that I built back in '82. After I bought my 79 I realized I still had that model, so I had to pull it out, and now it's proudly displayed in my living room. I need to paint it to match my car one of these days.
I have a 72 454 convertible. I found a 71 LT1 convertible plastic model (has the right hood) and a Motion 454 Camaro platic model. I took the engine out of the Camaro and put it in the Corvette model and painted to match my Vette. The model even came with a luggage rack like I have.
