Looking to benefit from the experience of people that have done this before. Getting ready to drop rebuilt 427 back in to my 68 4 speed roadster. What is the best/easiest process? Motor first, then bell housing and trans? Do I need to hang trans first then drop motor in and bolt on bell housing, then slide trans in? Looking to not waste time with trial and error. Appreciate any and all suggestions.
While I have never dropped a BBC in a vette I have had the abc in and out of my car enough times to determine that my preferred method is to install engine and trans as a unit. Buy or rent a levelling device and the mated engine - trans install is a breeze and it spares you from all the swearing and grunting that you will go through under the car
I have always just put the motor in after removing the rad with my BB. But then again the tranny has always been in the car and the rad was always removed first. If I had BOTH the motor and tranny out I would put them both in at the same time.

PS and YES (according to the rules) you have to post pics as this is your FIRST post. We all like pics --- especially of BBs (thanx for filling out your profile too.)
Sweet pic. Were your helpers as concerned as mine are . Thanks for the feedback. I have the bell housing and trans all connected now and ready. One last question, if I may. Gear shift assembly ok to leave bolted to crossmember? I will post some pics of the finished project.
