On my 72, theres 4 mounting points per side... the inner most is a brace that comes thru the rectangular hole in the body, and bolts to the bumper. The other 3 mounting points are round holes, the mounting bolts go through these holes to each respective bracket under the car....
My question???
Is there any sort of insulator that fits between the bumper mount and the body at each of these 3 round holes? I'm going to pick up a thick rubber washer for each one unless somebody tells me its supposed to be steel (bumper bracket) to fiberglass (body) contact...
Hi MS72,
I see the bumpers are already on, but I'll still mention that I know someone who found 3/4", clear, very thin, nylon washers at the hardware store in the special fastener trays and used them between the brackets and body.
Just might call them 'paint protectors'!!!
Regards,
Alan
