Engine rebuild b4 and after

Anyway, I've finally come up with her name too...Eleven. Some of you will know why if you've seen Spinal Tap. With the new sidepipes, it just hit me.
So, here's before:

Nasty manifolds, wiped cam, etc. Basically stock, less the A.I.R. pump. Now the same numbers matching block styling 383 internals, with a Mallory HEI, DeWitt's duals(nice!), a Holley 600 with a classic Edelbrock Streetmaster Powder coated intake, Powder coated LT1 Valve covers to match, Hayes clutch, Hooker block huggers and a custom fabricated sidepipe set-up that sounds sweet and doesn't rob any HP.

Just finishing up a few minor things today and hope to take it to a local Cruz In tonight. MAN she sounds good. I'm trying to figure a way to post a short clip for those interested in the sound of those Walker Glass packs down the side.

:o
It only took a second to see new headers, AC, alt, and e-fan.
Wow it looks great.
I might drop you a line, have some questions on the Alt-Fan-Header changes.
Start driving it and it looks great, old school look.

Stay tuned...
Well, initially I was excited. However, the idiot who did them, Color Master out of Easton, MD.; 1) left residue on the underside of the covers, so I took them back to him and he bead blasted the underside 2) never taped off the "important" parts of the manifold(thermostat seat, carb seat), which he said he would! So, we worked another 2-3 hours correcting that(what a PITA!).
All in all the look good. I wouldn't recommend that guy to my worst enemy. The color is some kind of bright silver, but not chrome. They turned out well because it covers some of the pitting I have on one of the covers. But, because my neighbor dug these out of his attic last year and practically gave them to me, I feel glad to have them.
Went out last night for the first time to a local cruise in. 260 cars there. What a rush! Like driving a new car!

Slept with a smile on my face....

Out of curiosity, why did you choose Colormaster and not someplace in Salisbury/Cambridge (if there is any)? I was having a powdercoating discussion with my uncle who lives in Cambridge the other day. Want to steer him clear of Colormaster if they are doing shoddy work.
(haha. just realized like 4 ppl in this thread from Maryland. what a coinkindink)
