Side gill color ?
Looking for opinions, ....and this seems a good place for them !
I have painted my 69 Silver, on the 4th gill it is blocked by the Firewall,
and not open like the front 3, I am considering blacking out the 4 th gill. So ..... leave it Silver ? or Black it out ? thanks, 69VETT

My choice...
It's up to you. I believe factory was body color, but if your not NCRS, it's a personal choice.

In original brochures, I've seen the 4th gill painted black (factory pics)....seems a personal preference which appears best, body color or black. I personally liked the louver option and installed them on my '69, with the open area in the 4th louver blacked out.

I like the 4th painted black too.
Even dark blue looks funny I think.
And yea, chrome gills

So were the '68s. Last one on each side were blacked out to match the other three.

Use the '69 louvers, they look great. It would be a nice touch on silver.
Just use the stock GM color though, don't use the custom chrome ones.

Factory did black out the 4th gill (forward face). If you don't install the chrome inserts (only available in '69, but later added to many '68s), the factory method looks best IMO.
