When I stripped the '73, I took all the parts out of the car and then removed the doors, and had a few buddies help me lift the body off the chassis.
Completely stripped down, I'm betting it doesn't weigh 3-400 pounds
Because the chassis is now completely restored, the body and paint, etc will be the next step in the process.
Almost all the body work will be on the car dolly, but when it gets to fit and finish, I'll be lifting the body to put on the chassis numerous times to make sure things fit like they should before we shoot the final color.
Because I'll be putting it on and taking it off I wondered if you can pick it up by the t-top center brace. This is part of the bird cage, right?
Sure would make things simple if I can do this.
Opinions and advice are always appreciated.

We have the lifts, I was just looking for a way to use the A-frame.
That's the way we usually do metal bodies, but the Vette is so light I was hoping I could lift it by the t-top.
The A-frame is a lot easier to move around with the body.
Thanks for the reply.

If you have the body stripped that far down you could use 2 heavy-duty ratcheting straps and a 1-ton chain hoist. You can hook the straps to the body lifting points either across the body or in a diagonal. I ran another strap around the T-top centerpiece and down to the nose for extra support.
