Default Another Cracked Windshield

I was on the interstate, this morning, enjoying the day, when out of the blue this rock (about 1" across) coming bouncing down the road. I spotted it about 150 feet away, but couldn't swerve to another lane (traffic on both sides) and I couldn't slow down (traffic behind me)...so I took it like a man! Bouncing....bouncing....bouncing!! It sounded like a gun went off inside and caused a crack about 2 feet long. Anyway, I've got an appointment with the glass company on Monday for them to replace it ($250 deductible on the insurance....wasn't expecting to dish out that money on a windshield)

Funny thing, in all the years I've been driving (about 40 years), I've never had to replace the windshield due to a rock hitting it, in all my other cars. BUT this is my 2nd windshield in 7 years on the Vette. Do rocks lay on the side of the road and wait for a Vette to come, and then sacrifice it's life by hurling itself at the windshield??? Seems like it!!!

All I can say is that I'm SO glad it didn't hit the hood or the front of the car...but still......

How many of ya'll has this happened to?

Just want to vent.

Back in my younger dumber days, I remember riding my motorcycle shirtless on the expressway. There was a gravel truck way ahead of me that I felt little pellets hitting me. These days I try to stay off the expressways as much as possible and leave em to the big trucks and the belchfire eights. Bike is gone too.
