hood clearence ?
I have no personal experience, but Edelbrock states quite clearly "Will not fit Corvette" on the Air Gap box. Of course they are referring to the stock air cleaner, but I have read here that a drop base cleaner will allow you to close the bonnet.
What you need to do is make some measurements of where the carb mounted stud sits. With the bonnet up run a straight line across the car that touches the stud. Mark the fenders on either side with masking tape, etc.
With the carburettor OFF the manifold, close the bonnet firmly and put a straight piece of timber etc. across the bonnet and pack each side up where the masking tape on each fender is. You might need one to two inches etc.
Then remove the timber, open the bonnet, and replace the piece of timber on the blocks on each fender. Then measure down to the manifold and you will have the distance from the TOP side of the bonnet to the top of the manifold.
Subtract an appropriate amount for the thickness of the bonnet and liner, if fitted, and you will then have the MAXIMUM height of the carb and stud to be fitted. Then you can work out how much of a drop base AC you will need.
I'll be following this, as I have an Air Gap that I want to fit to my '74.

I put Play Dough on top of my air cleaner & closed the hood. After opening the hood & measuring from the top of the block to the compressed Play Dough I determined that i had 10 & 3/4" inches to play with. I made a 3/8" cut off the top of the intake with a bridgeport mill ( I run a machine shop) . Then I ordered K & N air filters P.N. E-3240. These two moves gave me the clearance I needed.
Good luck
