Default Sway Bar Plating?

I blasted my sways bars. Should I have them cadmium plated or paint them? I'm not sure what they would have looked like in thier original condition.

paint them, you do not want to stress the metal,
by submitting them to unkown chemical or heat process.

Scot,

The sway bars are supposed to be natural steel or semi gloss dipped.
If you had them blasted, I would paint it.

Most of the original 72 cars (mine included) I have looked at through NCRS or otherwise, have all had remnants of black paint on the sway bar.

The natural ones seem to be more prevalent 1970 time frame.

I also think it just depended on what the factory was using. I believe that they came shipped either way, just depended on the manufacturer.

Bill,

That answers my question, I'll paint them. 69Vette makes a good point on the heat/chemicals as well. I need to break down and buy the NCRS manual. Even though I'm not going that route 100%, it would help me know what the parts are supposed to look like.
