I'm looking for your input/advice on powder coating VS painting the frame and suspension. There are no visible holes in my frame, but there is alott of rust on the inside, how is this best dealt with. I found large mice nests in the frame and duct work, I can imagine that they crawled all through the car and did their thing, it smells like rat pee...BAD. It sat in a pole-barn for many years.
Your advice on blasting and finishing will be appreciated
POR 15, and they now make these really nice brush/swabs on very long wire handles,
specifically to reach inside of frames, cheapest, easiest
and probable best other than a chemical dip.
Power wash inside and out, and start painting,
POR15 leaves a perfect finish no brush marks.
Wear protect gear ! POR15 will not come off of you !
well maybe after about 2 weeks !

I think its just about imposible to get all of the insid frame down to bare metal, aside from chemical dip. So if I use this product will it stop the rust or just cover it up?
Both ! check out the product, I have used it on many things, it literaly stops Rust,
and with enough coats can completely cover any sign or pre-existing rust.
They actually recommend not removing all rust before application.
Best thing since sliced bread !
Hi DS,
I had my frame powder coated after I stripped it. When I got it home I felt as though it was a little too glossy for the look I wanted. I scuffed the entire frame with 400 and sprayed it with Krylon #1613. It's holding up very well and I was able to do the little touch up I needed as I reassembled the car.
Regards,
Alan

I remember someone using a bug sprayer to spray inside the frame
I PC'd my frame but there was very little rust. I did POR some pieces, stuff works great.

So you guys got me re-thinking my plan.
blueray...the bug sprayer sounds like a good idea for the inside, I'm think some sort of flexible tubing with an atomizer on the end hooked up to the compressor, yes, I'm having a vision
I don't have any experience with any of the places around here that does blasting so I'm wondering what blasting media I should tell them to use?
Also, if anyone in the Nofolk VA area can recomend a place to get the blasting done that would be very helpfull.
Thanks blueray, and everyone else that has posted to this thread
