Default interior color

Any one have any pics of a 80's interior on burgundy? Someone painted my vetts interior black with reminents of burgundy, and on further investigation I found the original trim color to be burgundy and want to reurn it to that color but don't know how it looks ie...is the dash burgundy with black carpet etc...

the car is beige exterior if that helps

Did the PO really use paint? Or did he use vinyl dye? If it is painted (you should be able to break a paint chip off at an edge), you will have to use paint again. If he used vinyl dye [as he should have], you can recolor it easily with a different color of vinyl dye. SEM "Color Coat" vinyl dye is what I use and it's easy to use, covers completely, and won't peel or chip.

It seems to be dyed, as the color change seems very durable with no chips or such, I'm trying to figure out how the color sceme was laid out so when I do change it back I have an idea of the lay out. I'm glad to hear how easy it would be and i will take your advise. I have alot of other projects to get to before that and am try to lay out a floor plan any one else out there with a burgundy inerior and some picks I'd appreciate a look-see

If you have paint spraying equipment and know how to use it with a thin fluid like vinyl dye, have at it. If you don't, buy a bottle/gas cannister sprayer at the store where you pick up the dye. One bottle sprayer and 1 or 2 extra gas cannisters will do the entire interior [along with the pint of dye, of course] and it will look like factory quality.

falconview...

If your seats are leather, you'll need to get some leather dye that will match. I have used vinyl dye on leather (steering wheel wrap), but for leather seatcovers, I think it would be best to get the correct product to assure long life and no leather damage to your seats. Contact a leather shop in your area (or a shoe repair place) to find where they get their dyes....or search the internet. Vinyl dye is the right stuff for all plastic parts; leather dye for leather products. I'm not sure what your seats are made from, but felt I should clear that detail up.

Good to know, Mike. Maybe I should read the instructions on the can! As mentioned, I did my leather steering wheel with it and it came out fine...but I wasn't sure it was made for using with leather. The stuff is even better than I thought....
