Luggage Rack
I know there is alot of ya forum members don't care for them. When I purchase a new 82 in 82, I installed a GM rack w/ a tee top kit. I bought it @ a swap meet. It had GM packaging and GM part #. It was great for storing my tops when cruising. My question is where can I purchase a luggage rack and tee top kit for 82 vet, and if so where?? I haven't been able find any....anywhere....

Many of the supporting vendors on this site. Or place a want ad here and have members sell their surplus to you. eBay if you must... you are in the right place and now we all know what you need.

If you look at the hardware kit for the '82, it mentions that it can be used with the 6 or 8 rack.

The chrome luggage racks for the 1978-1982 cars were discontinued when Duer Tubing went out of business around 1978. When Auto Crafters started making them they made the 78-82 racks for a while but they just were not a popular seller. To my knowledge there is not a reproduction of this chrome rack available.
The hardware kits were the same on the chrome racks for the prior years, but nothing is out there for the racks.

May I recommend getting a stainless steel rack as opposed to a chrome rack. Stainless steel will not rust....chrome will. I purchased a stainless steel rack about 6 years ago, and it looks like the day I installed it. Just my opinion...

This is not an option on the 78-82 cars. The rack is not being made in steel or stainless steel. I wish it was, more people are looking for this rack every day. The 78-82 chrome rack had wings on the side that dropped down. I have an old one at the store maybe I should take a picture of it and post. It really is a weird looking rack off the car.
I have a SS Rack on my 72 and I ordered it without holes. This allowed me the option of putting the holes were they needed to be.
