As mentioned by others, front fit with 255/60's is a toss up on 68-79's, but no problem on 80-82's because of the redesigned front fenders. The factory trimmed the the inner lip on the forward edge of the front wheel opennings for added clearance on 78 & 79's ordered with the optional P255/60R15's. All 78 Pace Cars had the trimmed lips because they came standard with 255/60's. The 255/60's should fit fine on the rear of any 68-82.

I`ve rebuilt the entire suspension on my 77. I have 255.60x15 BFG/TA`s on all four corners using stock rally wheels. No rubbing front or rear.

I would think with the stock 7" wheels on my 68 it would help cut down on the rubbingwith 255x60's a litte better than 69-79's with 8" wheels?

or am i wrong on this?

My stock body 73 has stock rallye wheels , B.F.G's 255/60/15 all around...lowered....VB&P complete susp. close, but no rub ever..... had 235/60's on front....looked wierd....255's are the right diameter (27") to fill the wheel well....handle well too

What year?

I have a '69 and would like either 255s or 275s on the rear, the wider the better...

So, you have 255/60's all the way around your 68? Well, are your running the stock 7" wheels or no?

like the guy mentioned above I wonder if you keep the 7" wheels on the 68 when running the 255/60's if that would help them not to rub as bad and with the 8" wheels.

got any pics of yours with that size tire? would love to see some I want that size on my 68 too, btw looks like a very nice car.

I had 255s on my 76 front and they rubbed . Since then I have done a complete suspension with a body off rebuild and always wondered if they would rub now.

I had 255s all the way around on stock rims (79) and they did not rub. Just got some new centerline rims that came with 235 in the front and 255s in the back. No rubbing here.

Here's a couple of pics with my 255/60's front and back on 8" wheels. I've experienced NO rubbing at all.

Did anyone in this thread consider the differences in the inner rear wheel well of a vert vs a coupe ?

Weak front end springs and they will rub at times. Had them and the handling was not all that great on my 69. Went back to original size.
