Will 255 60s rub or not??????
Buying some tires for my 75 in the next couple of days.
Would like to use the 255 60 15s all around.
I have standard rally wheels and want the biggest tires I can use. I have read all of the posts but no definitive answer. Will I have to run two different sizes to get the biggest tires? Any help?
Thanks
Mark

From what I understand, it's a bit of a crap shoot. Some cars rub and some don't. I just got new tires for mine on Saturday and got 235 60's for the front and 255 60's for the rear.

255/60R15's on my '75. No rubbing with the stock rims but it is close.

245`s front, 255`s rear work for me. No rubbing issues
255's rubbed slightly in the front - switched to the 245's - with stock rally rims

It varies from car to car. I run 255/60's all the way around. It's close, but there was no rubbing until a lady ran into me. Now it rubs slightly on the side that was hit. Hopefully it will no longer rub after the new fender panel is put on.

Just bailed form CorvetteForums after 4 years... hope you don't hold it against me...
I run 235/60-15's on the front and 275/60-15's on the rear of my 73 454. Been using BFG TA's for 20 years because of the look. If you choose this size for the rear, you will have to go to a smaller speedo gear to keep the mph correct.

Running 295/50/15 rear 265/50/15 front on our 79 without issues, but my complete suspension is rebuilt.
Saber, 245/60/15 might be best on your 77
