Back in thr early 70's I was involved in a Corvette Shop and a majority of the work we did was custom work like this.
C-3' s got the complete Mako jobs, and station wagon kits like the one here.
C-2's were brought to us for flairs, mako fronts and rear spoilers and Triple tail lights. I used 58 Chevy headlight buckets to mount the headlights behind the grille. One guy had us install 68 Couger sequential tail lights in his 64 coupe.
We did a lot of Metal Flake paint jobs, Candy Apple paint jobs and loads of Ribbon work paint.
Hell!, it was the 70's and anything different and Wild was the was the way to go.
That dealer is about 20 min. from me in NJ. I might go take a look.

Hey, if you go look at it check the rust for me,

The 70's were an era where people wanted to be different at least a bit of personal expression, custom vette were the rule not the exception, people didn't want a car that was just like the next fellows,
Now it would seem people want to blend in and be sheep in a flock,
But Trends come and go, while some rare vettes will stay stock because of value more and more common models are getting modded,
Variety really IS the spice of life...

paulywannafly.
My guess is this car will bid up to 4500.00 to perhaps just over 5K
It is a bb and yellow and isnt all that bad, the world of vette buyers is a bit larger than this thread,
Someday I should get a vette wagon, paint and trim it to look like a herse.

Seriously, this car is just up the road. Bidding goes off at 9PM EST tonight. If someone is truly interested speak up now and I'll see if I can't pop over this evening and shine a light and screwdriver into its dirty little secrets. Please, only if you plan on bidding and want the car, no goose chases.

65convt, wanna cross the Trenton Makes and take a gander?

Steve

As much as I dislike many tacky customs, I don't think this is as bad as most. Fix the awful gaps and that hideous engine compartment and interior, and you might be able to make a fun project as long at it doesnt cost much of anything to get into.

If it was a numbers matching '73 454 with a solid frame...it would still be a losing proposition.

It's a lot of work... looks like it's done OK. Kinda looks like a Vega though.

Let's look on the bright side. At least two people can ride in it and still have a place to put their golf clubs.

There has to be a bright side to this bad idea.

doesn't seem to be much "73" left of this. If it was a true 73 wagon it wouldn't be bad at $4000.00, but the workmanship is not so good.
