Default 1974 Coupe?

OK,
Everyone is probably tired of "What is it worth" But here is another.
Talked to a guy today about a 74 coupe he has for sale. Only seen pics but looks clean from the pics. For me the good-Seems to be clean-4spd-pwr brakes/steering-ac the bad. needs motor-motor is out of car. I am going to look at it tomorrow, What would look for and/or ask? I think he wants around $5000. Thanks for any help.

I really want a 66 or a 68/69 but being in CA. a 74 is smog exempt so kind of got my attention.
Thanks Jack

put pictures on photobucket, then copy the "img" tag into a post, or put pictures in your photo album here on the forum, and copy "img" tag into post.

It wouldn't be a bargain at $5000. Or even at $3000, as it sounds like quite the project.

I bet there are better cars for just a little bit more, that are complete and runing.

Kinda hard to see , pretty $hitty pictures. Does he give any explanation as to why the motor is out, the car warrants a thorough going over (mechanically & cosmetically) before you commit to anything, but I dont think its worth what the seller thinks it is, just my opinion. Lots of other drivers out there for close money, BTW thats a hell of a garage that its "kept" in .
Peace,,,Good luck in your search,,, Moosie

Is this the car you're thinking of? Moosie beat me lol. But I agree, 5k is too much for a car that needs work. If you're still interested take someone who knows there way around these cars to see what needs done and if the prices are less then buying a drivable car then by all means go for it. But its your call.

if you can train one of those herding dogs, you can figure out how to post a picture!

Default Dogs

I think my dog trains me LOL. 74 4 spd seem kind of rare around here. They seem to sell for 12,000 + so just kind of thinking with a nice motor might be a good car. The unknown kind of scares me. I will look tomorrow and know more. Please keep them comming.
Thanks
Jack

are you looking for a 74 4 speed car? I would be leery as the seller has 0 feed back and has posted cell phone photos, and a poorly written ad, if his ad is in this poor of shape, imagine what the car is like.

Default Close to home!

The good thing is it is close to home! I will not bid on e-bay but will look at it tomorrow. If it sells on e-bay cool! If not then we will see what happens. This is not the car I am looking for but if the price is right could be a fun car. My dream car is a 66 vert. I will be working my way towards a 66 but maybe a few in between.
Thanks Jack

Alternator is on the wrong side, looks like an a/c car at one time so no compessor. Lots been changed in the engine compartment. I'd want to see the car to make a good decision.

Again for a 74 non matching/custom? without an engine, even if its not the one you're looking for, there still might be better options. I would definitely go check it out if you're close though, might be better then you thought, or worse.
