Default Need help moving on from this one...

I admit it my head hurts and I am bored tonight...
So I will pop an asprin and post this...

I saw this one on CL way back when I first started looking for a donor,
I have been told it's been on and off Fleabay, the seller says it could go for 10K
I would not get off 10K or this car,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-...=p4506.c0.m245

I have a soft spot for old customs but still feel this one is a bit over priced for what it is, see what you guys think,

The car has been in barn storage and not really ran much in years but is said it will "drive" but isn't really a driver, it's up north but the seller claims cars keep well up there,
The seller calls it a rat, says it needs paint and interior, to me it needs a lot more,
I ask about rust and his answer is he will have it placed on a rack and someone can check it out,

Keeping in mind I want a donor for a radical custom project I keep thinking about this poor car ( and a couple others )
Last outing on Fleabay people only thought it was worth 6K

Are there running driving c3 verts 68-72 under 10K?
I would love to see some....I hate to pay 15 for a car just to hack on,

I know it's hard to gauge the value of a tired custom but let me get some opinions,

Thanks
Cheers,
P.

If all the metal is in good shape and it it a true matching numbers car I thinks its wort 10k all day long. If you are going to use the body parts you have posted on other threads on this car I think you are ahead of the game at this price.

I think it depends on what you view as a "donor". If I was doing a custom, possibly the ONLY thing I would be really concerned about is a solid frame and birdcage. I'm also not sure why you are focused on chrome bumpers as you seem to be talking about a Mako-like beast that will not have stock chrome bumpers. If the frame on the brown car is toast, forget it, or any other car with a toasty frame. You might even be better off with a '76 or '77 project car with a solid frame looking for a good home than something like what you attached.

Thanks for the good replies, perhaps someone lives near this car in Tomahawk WI and might feel like checking it out for me,

The reason I want a 68-72 is I do plan to run rear split bumpers on my Mako project and I want a wiper door and was told I can't add a wiper door to even a 73,
The doner must be a convertible so....

My project will have lots of old school "spirit" this car would be good as the rear flares are the ZL-1 style I like, and it's really not a car worth restoring to stock, less I dont think it is,

Bats, Being this car is from Wisconsin, I am from Milwaukee. Not many old cars survive there because of all the heavy salt dropped on the roads in the winter. I would have it checked out by someone near by that area that knows what to look for.
