only have 2 days to look at the door that was damaged from the woman hitting it. I need to take the window crank off and cant see how its removed. what is the easiest way to remove the window crank
There is a small spring clip behind the handle, I have had the best luck with a small pick with a hook on the end. Push the panel in slightly to expose the clip, hook it with the pick, It should pop right out. Good luck with the ins. co.
popped it off with a dental pick. thanks for the responses. found the bottom hing to be bent slightly but i was able to simply adjust the door and presto. problem solved.
the 2 days is because i wanted to get it done before the weekend was over.
the bottom hinge was bent out a little and the door has some chipped fiberglass on the leading edge. nothing major so im not even going to the insurance co with it.
but i readjusted the door and everything is good. ill be fixing the fiberglass in the next couple of weeks so no major issue.
I know you already got that clip off but wanted to add that some people have used a common shop rag to catch the edge of that clip that splays out and get the clip off that way. I never tried that but they tell me it works fine .
Peace,,,Moosie
with the dental pick i pushed it just enough to get the handle off with the clip still at the very end of the groove.
i have found over the years a set of dental picks is a must for working on cars. the best is most dentist will give you an old set of tools for free since wonce they are worn they usually just keep them in a drawer and never use them.
