Anybody have pictures of an L-48, 270hp, 1971 restored or stock survivor engine in their car that they would be willing to share those pictures? I want to go as stock as possible with my 71 project and would like to see how far off I am starting.
Thank you for your consideration.

Sorry about that. I was so excited about writing this post that I said Pay versus Bay. That could be an expensive mistake in some circles.
I'll try harder to type correctly and slow down in the future.

I'd like to see those pictures too. My '71 coupe seems original, but I don't really have anything to compare it to to know that for sure. I'll keep checking back to see if you get any hits on this.
Hi David,
If you're serious about 'stock' you should consider buying the NCRS 70-72 CORVETTE TECHNICAL INFORMATION MANUAL & JUDGING GUIDE, and the 68-72 VET VUES FACT BOOK by M.F. Dobbins. Buy the NCRS book for the information and the Dobbins book for the pictures.
My 71 compartment is very stock while the engine is mostly stock. It has a Holley DP and 70 ignition shielding on it in some of the pictures.
Here's a couple that have been posted often. If your interested I'll send you some more.... but buy the books, they help you.
Regards,
Alan
PS: Thanks Ray, I ALWAYS enjoy seeing your photos too.
Beautiful engine bay and car Alan. Thank you for sharing.
I'll buy the books this weekend, thank you for that advice as well.
Stunning, simply stunning.

I noticed a cover (boot) in the pictures you posted in this thread that I do not see on my 69. What do you call this cover and was it also on 69 vettes. I apologize to the original poster and do not mean to hijack this thread.

No problemo, we can all learn from this question.
David
Excellent, thank you. I think I will print this one and some of the others out and place them next to my new car. Good starting point.
Thank you very much.

2025 c3 ('68-'73) of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Alan / GD 70, both beautiful cars!
Alan I think I've saved all the pics you've posted of that terrific restoration. Someday I'll take the plunge and do my '71.
Funny how things change even in the same year. My '71 has AC and with that the rad is different, has no expansion tank and a plastic shroud! I'll see if I can round up a pic.
Kind of like this. ( not my car but one that I took at the last NCRS regional )

AC cars had the larger 26 inch brass rads. Non AC had the aluminum rad & expansion tanks.
The pics I posted were from a local cruise, not my vette, but a beautiful vert.
