Default 75 Regulator Location

Can someone tell me where the regulator is located on a 1975? I am having a slight discharge within the system when I have the headlights on and the car is running at idle speed. For testing I have run the car at 1500-2000RPM and then disconnected the grd.battery cable and the car keeps running. They say this eliminates the alternator being the problem and to next look at the regulator. Where is this located? Is the test above for the alternator a good one, where if the engine doesn't stop the alternator is good and not the problem?

Internal regulator on '75 alternator. Stock alternator is only 42 amp so if you upgrade the headlights, it is very easy to have a discharge issue.

Better test is remove the alternator and take to NAPA for a test. They can tell you if there is a problem.
