Default These people charged.

Somepeople weren't so lucky, this is 45 minutes from me in my hometown. Total BS , the emissions testing in Ontario only goes back 20 years. Talk about a money grab.

I got to tell this one about my wife right after we got married.

She was doing something like 45-50 in a 30 zone, and a cop pulls her over. The cop basically ask what is going on... kind of saying in so many words.. give me a good story and I'll let ya go.

So my wife, who was running a mental health facility, had some of those cups you pee in for drug testing, etc in the passenger seat. So she tells the cop that she runs the mental health facility, and that she was running late for their drug test. She told him that if she was late, and they did not get their drugs regulated that they would hit the streets all crazy, etc. So she was trying to hurry to work so that they(the police) would not have to round up all the crazy people, and that she was trying to actually help him out by getting to work quicker.

Of course he laughed and let her go, and I know he wouldn't have even let me or any other guy go with a warning. But I cannot say anything I didn't have to pay for a ticket or higher insurance.

Out for a drive today, the Minivan in front of me was hauling azz, disappearing from my view..... I was following, not as fast but about 15 MPH over the speed limit...and a trooper going the other way tries to come around, no lights but he's got his turn signal on.

I quickly disappeared to the off ramp as the sportcar is always going faster and a much better trophy for the trooper.

Back in 96 I had just moved back to Chicago from Hawaii.
I had my wife's 88 Z24 shipped to her brother's in Seattle. I got to fly out to retrieve it. Made the trip, about 2000 miles, in 36 hours. Didn't REALLY speed, just kept it a bit above the speed limit.
At one point I blew past 2 state troopers parked on the median at just over 100 mph
Oh crap! They didn't even look up. Was in Montana, just out of the mountains. At the time they didn't have a posted speed limit, just something like 'safe and reasonable'. I guess 100 mph was reasonable.
I always wanted to pass through there again, but sadly they came to their senses and posted limits.
I just wish I had been in a Vette!
I've been lucky regarding tickets, talking my way out of 3 or 4 of them in the last 25 years.
My wife's the ticket getter

when i was 19 and irresponsible i was going home from my mates after watching the football. 11 pm and i lived in the country and only had to go through one set of lights on a 20 minute drive to get home. normally i would only see 1 or 2 other cars on the road back then at this time of night . i approach the lights and lucky me, its green so i punch it and get to about 160 flying through the intersection and yes would you believe it going the opposite way looking to turn right after i go through is the cops in a car. i had not been drinking but made the decision to pin it and pretend i never saw him. i had a massive lead by the time he did a u-turn and started to chase and i could see his lights fading as i went even faster. i had to go 3 or 4 turns to get to my street , raced straight around the back of my house and turned the lights off. that was my 1st and only time to outrun the cops.

I was working for an Electrical company in a small town in Ontario as a summer student. I rolled through a yellow light on main street and a cop waved me over and ticketed me for running the light. I found out exactly what this electrical company takes care of in this small town when the owner, my friends dad, called up the city and threatened to shut down all the traffic lights if the ticket doesn't get straightened out.

He probably wouldn't have gotten away with it if he tried but it was really funny listening to this conversation...he was livid. Never did get off the ticket.

A few years back when I owned a Kawasaki Turbo 750 I had been visiting my Grandmother in Anza California. I headed out early in the morning heading home and was on the I-40 I believe. There was light traffic and I was looking into the sun. I bumped it up to about 120 MPH and was just cruising passing a car or to every once in a while. Another sedan in the right lane, I move into the left lane and pass him like he's sitting still. As I go by I glance over and see the unmistakable insignia of the California Highway Patrol. He pins it and I grab the binders and he shots past me. I drop in behind him and more or less end up pulling him over, no light no siren. Busted. He had no idea how fast I was going so gave me a ticket for 75+. I ended up getting "escorted" for the rest of the morning with a officer waiting on the side of the road every every fifteen minutes or so clocking me progress. I guess I'm lucky I didn't get arrested........that time.

You lucked out. A guy near me has a 70 w/power steering and when I drove it, it felt the same way. He said it's just the way it is. I don't have power steering so it doesn't have that squrrely feel. I was really surprised how different his car felt from mine.

Power steering won't make a car jittery like that. It's much more likely your friend needs to adjust the lash on his steering box, or have the box rebuilt if there is no adjustment left.

Default pulled over

I was riding with my friend the other day, he is driving a big Chev truck on a south carolina back rd on the way to his farm-hunting retreat, going about 75 in a 45, we come around a slight curve and pass a parked trooper, he pulls out as we go by, my friend just pulls over instantly and waits, the trooper drives up beside us, rolls down his window and asks if we need any help. My buddy says no, I stopped because we were speeding and I thought you were pulling me over. The trooper laughs and says no, I was on my cell phone and just hung up as you went by, have a nice day and be careful. Then he just drove off and left us sitting on the side of the road and we were dumbfounded. True story, just happened a few weeks ago. Who says police are not nice guys?

We had 30 cars from our car club ('72 and older American cars) on a run from CA to Coeur d'Alene, ID, going through OR. We were traveling in groups of six called pods. The speedo in our pod leader's '40 Ford street rod didn't work and he had been going about the speed limit. After a stop where we all told him to pick it up, he kicked it up to 80-85. Just then we crested a hill to see a trooper with his radar gun aimed at us. All he did was motion for us to slow it down, which we quickly did. Then the last guy in our pod, who had been stuck behind a truck and separated from us, crested the hill. He has a '57 Vette with a ZZ4 and Tremac 5sp and must have been doing over 90. The trooper flashed his open hand twice- 55, the speed limit. I bet if we had been in Toyotas and Beemers we would have all had tickets.
