Default Anyone Read This Code???

I know there is a trick to reading these but don't know the trick.
Can someone share the process so I can date the tires I have on my 71barn find?
Thank you and best regards,
David Howard

Hi David,
I'm sorry I can't help read your code.
The one original tire I have left has the date code on the back side of the tire, not the front as yours seems to be.
A quick way to narrow down on an original or correct period tire is to check the construction info.... the originals were Nylon Cord, not Polyester Cord, as service replacement soon became.
Regards,
Alan

PS: I re-read your post and I think I went off on the wrong track, I thought you were trying to determine originality but now I think you're just trying to determine age to see if the tires are safe to use. Sorry!

Thanks Alan. The tires are coming apart anyway but I wanted to see how old they were before removing them and replacing them. More issues of much larger magnatude than that so just seeing if I could learn how to do it.
Thank you.

either the 2nd week or the 2nd month of 1985.

On newer tires the last four digits are the week and year of production.

After watching this video again I think that tire was made in the 28th week of 1995. Please watch the video to see if you think I'm right.

Probably easier to figure out in print than watching the video, I've got to think you are correct.

From what I can find: EF + Bridgestone; N8 = Tire size code; JBN + Tire size code; 285 = Date code. 285 would be the 28th week of 1985 unless there is a triangle after the 285. If there is the date is 1995.

Hope this helps.

Car was registered 12/85 and was inspected that month as well. Both stickers are on the car and expired 12/86. The car has not been registered again since that date. This leads me to believe the dates on the tires are 1985 and at only 24 years young she is still safe to drive on the road, NOT
New item on the list, five tires. I will try to get the date code off the spare tire and let you know that one shortly.
Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you, this one was very helpful. Now to decipher my spare tire.

Goodyear Chusion Belt Tire is my spare.

UBA154 is the code. 15th week of 1974 I suspect. Car is a 1971 so not the original spare.

Wheels on the car carry this code on each of them K-1-1 with a 4 over near the valve stem. I will try to sort this out as well.

I also removed the trim rings and center caps today and can confirm the trim rings are all four clip style in fair shape.

Thanks for all your help.
