Default Radiator Seal Adhesive

I am replacing a couple of radiator shroud seals and I need to use an adhesive to hold the seal to the frame around the radiator. Can I just use some rubber cement or do I need to find some special adhesive?

I have one of the two seals circled in the photo below:

Thx

Paul

When I bought mine, they came with adhesive already on the back of them.

My replacement seals came with the adhesive backing too. However, after a couple weeks it started coming loose so I re-glued it with the 3M adhesive.

If you look at the shroud where those seals are placed, you will see some holes. There should also be some holes in the seals. That is where some attachment [press-in] pins go to hold them in place. The longer side seals and the upper hood/shroud seal are pinned. Most of the aftermarket seals have some double-sided tape on them to hold them in place while you pin them permanently. If you don't want to use the pins (like the factory did), just use some 3M weatherstripping adhesive. Double-sided tape alone will not hold them for long...due to the heat that area sees.
